Recently, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Health Canada and PetSmart jointly announced an expanded recall of Chinese-made glass jars with LED lights.

The English name of the recalled product is Top Fin Betta Bowl Kit with LED Light. It is a 0.6-gallon glass jar with an LED light and a plastic base in black, blue, pink, purple and silver. The following is the recalled product information:

The glass jar with LED light of this product was sold at PetSmart stores in the United States from September 2013 to October 2015, priced at US$25 each.

The number of recalled LED lamp glass jars sold in the United States is approximately 148,000 units, and the sales volume in Canada is approximately 8,000 units. Reason for recall: The glass jar may break during normal use, posing a risk of cuts. So far, PetSmart has received seven reports of incidents, including five cases of cuts to hands and fingers.

To this end, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada recommend that consumers immediately stop using the recalled LED light terrarium products and return the plastic base and converter with power cord to PetSmart for a full refund.
