Korean media: TCL expands its presence in South Korea’s high-end TV market

Recently, Korean media reported that TCL is expanding its presence in the Korean TV market and launching a challenge to the Korean high-end TV market dominated by Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics. It is reported that TCL has completed the radio wave certification of new TV products such as X11L, C8L, C7L, and P7L at the National Radio Wave Research Institute of Korea. The products are expected to be launched one after another in April.

Among them, TCL’s flagship model X11L is equipped with the next generation SQDMini LED technology, which applies efficient quantum dot optical design to the Mini LED backlight structure to improve color purity and brightness efficiency. This product can achieve 100% full-scene wide color gamut under the BT.2020 standard, support up to 20,736 precise light control zones and a brightness of up to 10,000 nits.

In addition, the X11L model adopts an ultra-thin design of about 2 centimeters and a bezel-less design, and is equipped with an audio system tuned by Bang & Olufsen. TCL plans to take the lead in launching 85-inch large-screen products including this model and 4K RGB Mini LED TV in South Korea.

The high-end series C8L covers products from 65 inches to 98 inches to meet all needs from medium to large TVs. C8L is also equipped with SQD technology, but it is reported that its pricing is basically the same as the C8K series launched last year. In addition, the mid-range model C7L and the popular model P7L have also completed multiple size coverage.

On the other hand, Korean media pointed out that currently in the high-end TV market, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics still maintain their advantages and adopt a dual-track development strategy. On the one hand, they consolidate the technology leadership of high-end products represented by OLED, and on the other hand, they actively defend mid- to high-priced markets such as LCD.

It is reported that Samsung Electronics plans to use 130-inch Micro RGB TV, and LG Electronics will continue to maintain its advantages in the ultra-large and high-end market through Micro RGB evo, and will also strengthen the product lineup of Mini LED TVs.

Korean media predict that 2026 will become a watershed in the competitive landscape of the Korean TV market. With the improvement of TCL's brand image and technical strength, TCL will fully compete with Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics in the Korean high-end TV market this year.
