Huanying Island LED Movie Screen Theater is launched in Chaozhou

Recently, SFC Shanghai Film International Cinema has completed the cinema technology upgrade and officially put into use the Huanying Island LED Movie Screen Theater. This is also the first commercial cinema in eastern Guangdong to use LED movie screens. After Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Chaozhou becomes the third city in Guangdong Province to launch LED cinemas.

The core of this upgrade is a curved LED movie screen system, which replaces the traditional projection screening solution. LED movie screens use self-illuminating display methods, which are significantly different from traditional projections in terms of brightness, contrast and color stability. The theater supports 4K resolution display and has HDR display capabilities, which can still maintain picture clarity in bright field environments.

In terms of structural design, the theater adopts a curved screen solution to expand the viewing angle and reduce the problem of picture attenuation in the edge area. At the same time, the LED movie screen adopts a sound-transparent structure, and sound can be transmitted through the front of the screen. It cooperates with the original multi-channel sound system of the theater to achieve sound and picture synchronization.

Compared with traditional projection cinemas, LED cinemas do not rely on projectors and reflective screens, eliminating the need for computer room space and avoiding the problem of brightness attenuation caused by aging bulbs. At the operation and maintenance level, LED display modular design helps reduce long-term maintenance frequency, but the overall construction cost and initial investment are relatively high.

Guangxi’s first CINITY LED movie screen was lit up in Liuzhou

On February 12, Guangxi’s first CINITY LED movie screen was lit up at Liuzhou SKY Cinema and officially released. This project marks the first time that CINITY LED movie projection system has been implemented in Guangxi.

The theater opened this time is Cinema Hall 6, equipped with a CINITY LED movie projection system. This system is an LED direct display movie screen, which is different from traditional projection screening methods. It adopts a self-luminous display structure, which can improve brightness, contrast and dynamic range, and supports multiple movie formats.

According to China Film Technology, the CINITY LED movie projection system is the result of independent research and development and has completely independent intellectual property rights. It is an important part of its movie projection technology system. The system is Hollywood DCI certified.

In terms of technical specifications, the CINITY LED system integrates multiple projection technologies such as 4K resolution, 3D, high frame rate, high brightness, high dynamic range, wide color gamut, blue light control, and immersive sound. Among them, the 3D projection brightness can reach 17.5 Ford Lamberts and the contrast ratio can reach up to 1,000,000:1, which is mainly used to improve the dark field level and picture detail performance.

Currently, the system has produced corresponding screening versions for more than 160 domestic and foreign films, including Avatar 3, and supports the screening of high-standard content. According to the theater arrangement, Liuzhou SKY Cinema CINITY LED Cinema has been officially opened to the public during the Spring Festival this year.
