Guangpu Co., Ltd. plans to establish a joint venture to expand into the field of optical communications

Optoelectronics recently announced that the company has reached a strategic cooperation intention with Shanghai Sailer Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. The two parties plan to sign a cooperation agreement and jointly fund the establishment of a joint venture to formally enter the field of optical engines and cutting-edge optical communication technology.

According to the announcement, the two parties plan to jointly invest in the establishment of Shanghai Guangpu Sailer Technology Co., Ltd. The registered capital of the company is planned to be 50 million yuan. Among them, Guangpu Co., Ltd. subscribed for 37.5 million yuan, accounting for 75% of the shares, and Sailer Optoelectronics subscribed for 12.5 million yuan, accounting for 25% of the shares.

After the establishment of the joint venture, it will become a holding subsidiary of Guangpu Co., Ltd. and be included in the consolidated statements. The new company's business scope covers the R&D, manufacturing and sales of cutting-edge optical communication technologies such as optical engine products, vehicle-mounted optical communication modules, inter-satellite optical communication modules, optical path switching and optical input and output. It will also undertake packaging, testing and sales of integrated photonic chips delivered overseas.

Guangpu Co., Ltd. was established in 1994 and listed on the GEM of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2017. In recent years, Optoelectronics has focused on the strategic direction of domestic substitution and independent controllability, focusing its business on semiconductor optical integrated sensor packaging and testing, intelligent sensing modules and innovative application scenarios, building a closed loop of the entire industry chain from optoelectronic integrated packaging and testing to intelligent terminals and then to scenario solutions.

Its products are widely used in robots, drones, smart driving, smart wearables, smart lighting and other fields. It has established overseas production bases in Malaysia and other places, and is accelerating its transformation into a technology-based multinational group.

Sailer Optoelectronics was established in 2018. For this cooperation, Optoelectronics stated that the two parties will give full play to their respective technical advantages, achieve synergy between the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, jointly create a full-chain solution of integrated photonic chips and optical engine products, and promote the industrialization of high-end photonic chips. In the future, both parties are expected to achieve strategic resonance and ecological synergy in the high-speed growth track of optical communications.
