Mercedes-Benz pure electric luxury MPV VLE released, equipped with MicroLED smart digital headlights

On March 10, Mercedes-Benz officially launched its new pure electric luxury MPV model VLE in the world in Stuttgart, Germany. This is Mercedes-Benz’s first mass-produced model based on the new VAN.EA pure electric exclusive architecture.

From the perspective of model positioning, the starting price of VLE in the British market is about 90,000 pounds (approximately RMB 840,000), and the high-end version is priced at more than 100,000 pounds (approximately RMB 934,000). In the Chinese market, Mercedes-Benz VLE models will be localized by Fujian Benz in the future.

For the smart cockpit in the car, the VLE can be equipped with the optional MBUX Superscreen system, which provides a 10.25-inch digital instrument, a 14-inch central control screen and a 14-inch passenger screen. An entertainment system is also optional in the rear row, with a 31.3-inch panoramic screen that unfolds from the roof, supports 8K resolution, split-screen display, and is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera for video conferencing.

As for the exterior lights, Mercedes-Benz VLE is equipped with a Digital Light digital headlight system, which uses Micro LED technology. When passengers approach the vehicle, the light set instantly flashes to indicate.

It is worth noting that Mercedes-Benz, as an active promoter of Micro LED lighting technology, has applied this technology to many models. In addition to the newly released VLE, the mid-term facelift S-Class, pure electric GLC SUV and other models are equipped with Micro LED pixel headlights.

Among them, the Digital Light digital headlight system installed in the mid-term facelift of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class integrates up to 25,000 Micro LEDs in a single headlight and 50,000 Micro LEDs in dual lights.

Powered by Micro LED technology, the new generation of Digital Light digital headlight system expands the illumination range by about 40% compared to the previous generation, significantly improving the clarity of vision around corners at night; the overall weight of the headlights is reduced by more than 25%; the effective illumination distance can reach 605 meters; the energy efficiency of the light system is 50% higher than the previous generation; the lights have a variety of projection warning and reminder functions.
