According to news on March 17, it was previously reported that Apple is preparing to launch the second-generation Studio Display, which uses Mini LED backlight technology and is expected to be released later this year or early next year. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, this display is code-named J427 within Apple.
However, according to Gurman's disclosure in the latest issue of his "PowerOn" newsletter, Apple's layout in the field of external displays seems to go beyond that. Gurman pointed out that Apple is also developing another display, code-named J527. The specific positioning and functions of this display are currently unclear, and its final form remains a mystery. Gurman speculated that Apple may be developing two different second Studio Display models and will decide which one to launch later. Another speculation is that J527 may be the second generation ProDisplayXDR monitor.
It is understood that the current ProDisplayXDR was launched in 2019, while StudioDisplay will be launched in 2022.
