Recently, Pudong Venture Capital Group announced that it has completed an exclusive investment of 200 million yuan in AR glasses company XREAL.

It is reported that XREAL was established in 2017. The company is committed to the research and development, production and sales of AR terminals. Its products have entered many countries and markets such as China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Germany.

Prior to this investment from Pudong Venture Capital, XREAL has completed multiple rounds of financing, with a cumulative amount of hundreds of millions of dollars. The investors behind it include well-known investment institutions such as Sequoia China, Yunfeng Fund, China Capital, Hillhouse Ventures, and Hongtai Fund. Industry giants such as Alibaba, Kuaishou, and NIO have also been deeply involved as strategic investors.

In terms of products, XREAL has released a variety of AR glasses products such as XREAL Air 2, XREAL Air 2 Pro, XREAL One series, Air 2 Ultra, etc., all equipped with Micro OLED micro displays.

In February this year, XREAL and Hisense Vision Technology reached an in-depth strategic cooperation. The two parties will carry out technological collaboration, ecological co-construction and global market expansion in the field of AR/AI glasses. The first "AR high-end viewing product" jointly developed by the two parties will be released in the second half of this year.

In terms of production projects, in February 2024, XREAL invested a total of 2 billion yuan in a smart AR glasses optical display module R&D and manufacturing project and settled in Kunshan Development Zone, Suzhou. The project is mainly engaged in the R&D and manufacturing of AR glasses core optical display modules. After the project is completed, it is expected to produce 3.5 million sets of AR glasses optical modules annually and achieve annual sales of 10.5 billion yuan.

Weiguang Technology completed nearly 50 million yuan in financing to accelerate the implementation of smart AR glasses

On May 14, AR smart glasses company Weiguang Technology announced that the company had completed a Pre-A round of financing of nearly 50 million yuan by the end of 2024, led by Dinghan Investment. Financing funds will be mainly used for the research and development of a new generation of AR products, as well as supporting the three-year value-preserving and rejuvenating "New Homo Plane" to accelerate the implementation of smart AR glasses.

According to data, Weiguang Technology was founded in 2023 and is a smart glasses solution company focusing on the combination of AI and AR technology. In April this year, Weiguang Technology officially launched its new product Micro LED AR clip-on glasses Xuanjing M5. Xuanjing M5 uses a Micro LED 0.13-inch micro-display provided by JBD and is equipped with binocular diffraction light waveguide technology, which can project an 86-inch high-definition large screen equivalent to 4 meters away, with a peak brightness of up to 1500nits.

Functionally, Xuanjing M5 supports a variety of applications such as reading, translation, navigation, and inscriptions. It is equipped with the Hongyan OS system and integrates AI large models such as DeepSeek and Tongyi Qianwen to provide functions such as AI outlines, book Q&A, improvisation, and translation summaries.

Weiguang Technology stated that after the completion of this round of financing, the company will focus on two core strategic directions and continue to develop. In the field of technology research and development, the company will deeply integrate AI vertical field intelligence and AR technology to create a new generation of smart glasses products. The product has a high-resolution color display function and will integrate a multi-modal perception system.
