Chenxian Optoelectronics stated that the implementation of this production line will be an important measure to promote the commercialization of Micro LED display technology. Chenxian Optoelectronics was established in 2020 and is a subsidiary of Visionox. It aims to focus on the development of Micro LED. When Chenxian Optoelectronics was founded, it spent 300 million yuan to obtain 506 Micro LED-related patents independently developed by Visionox, mainly involving six categories: backplane, mass transfer, driver, packaging and module, equipment and terminal technology. As of the end of 2021, Chenxian Optoelectronics has more than 700 Micro LED patents.
In 2021, Chenxian Optoelectronics and Sanan Semiconductor reached a strategic cooperation to carry out in-depth cooperation in the fields of Micro LED chip development, mass transfer, production line automation and other fields. The goal is to jointly develop the first Micro LED mass production product for end customers.
Currently, Chenxian Optoelectronics has built mainland China’s first Micro LED production line Micro LED pilot line in Chengdu, which covers LTPS drive backplane, mass transfer, repair and module, completing the entire process line. Chenxian Optoelectronics said that in the field of glass-based Micro LED technology, the company focuses on high-end TV, car and smart wearable applications, while in silicon-based Micro LED technology, it focuses on AR applications.
