The world's first, Aledia releases 9-volt Micro LED

In February this year, French Micro LED technology company Aledia announced that its patented high-voltage Micro LED platform FlexiNOVA was put into commercial use. Recently, Aledia once again announced that its Micro LED platform FlexiNOVA has achieved new breakthroughs.

On April 3, Aledia announced that the FlexiNOVA series FN1530F9 Micro LED product with an operating voltage of 9 volts has been put into commercial use. Aledia thus became the first company in the world to launch 9V high-voltage operating voltage Micro LED products.

The product is built using Aledia's patented 3D nanowire technology, which produces a single ultra-precision chip with a size of only 15x30μm on a 200mm silicon wafer. This achievement also benefits from the collaboration of long-term partner CEA-Leti and the support of the French 2030 plan.

The core advantage of the FlexiNOVA platform lies in its unique technical architecture. According to reports, the 9V Micro LED chip consists of three series-connected nanowire blocks. Through high-voltage design, the product combines a nanowire structure based on gallium nitride on silicon (GaN on Silicon), which not only significantly reduces the power consumption of the display system and improves system-level efficiency, but also simplifies the structure of the thin film transistor (TFT) panel and enhances its reliability.

Felix Marchal, chief marketing officer of Aledia, said that the launch of FlexiNOVA 9V marks a key step for Micro LED from high-end applications to the large-scale consumer market. The products are manufactured through mature semiconductor industry standard processes, effectively solving the industry's long-standing efficiency and cost balance issues. Compared with existing technologies, this manufacturing method significantly improves production yield, consistency and process repeatability, thus greatly optimizing the cost structure of large-scale mass production.

Aledia is exhibiting FlexiNOVA 9V samples at the ongoing Touch Taiwan 2026 exhibition. Subsequently, Aledia will also participate in Display Week in Los Angeles.
