According to the "Changjiang Daily" report, at the 2026 Jiufengshan Forum new product launch conference, Wuhan Optics Valley Core Materials released three compound semiconductor epitaxial wafer products, including RF and Power GaN epitaxial wafers, Micro LED epitaxial wafers, and optical communication and radio frequency As/P epitaxial wafers. Related products support 8-inch and 6/8-inch substrate specifications, and their application directions include AR/VR, ultra-high-definition display, and vehicle-mounted scenarios.
According to reports, Optics Valley Core Materials has completed the development of 8-inch Micro LED epitaxial wafers. Previously, domestic RF silicon-based epitaxial wafers were mainly 6 inches, and 8-inch products supplemented the large-size composite substrates. Compared with 6-inch, 8-inch has certain advantages in terms of unit output and cost control, but has higher requirements in terms of process control and yield stability.
Currently, Optics Valley Core Materials’ 8-inch Micro LED RF silicon-based epitaxial wafer has been applied in the field of optical communications, and can be expanded to high-pixel car lights, AR, VR and other scenarios. Compared with traditional products, its cost is reduced by 75%.
In terms of optical communications and radio frequency As/P epitaxial wafers, the products cover InP PIN/APD, FP/DFB lasers, VCSEL and GaAs HBT structures, which can be used in high-speed optical modules, laser radar, 3D sensing and radio frequency front-end and other fields.
It is reported that Optics Valley Core Materials was established by the industry technical team and industrial capital. It relies on the incubation and transformation of technological achievements in Jiufengshan Laboratory to carry out business. It is mainly engaged in the research and development, production and sales of compound semiconductor epitaxial wafers. The company's current layout covers epitaxial growth and related bonding processes, and is positioned in the supply chain of compound semiconductor materials under the background of domestic substitution.
It is worth mentioning that at the 2026 Jiufengshan Forum new product launch conference, Xingxiguang simultaneously released the vehicle-mounted Micro LED light source product M-50K. This product is based on a gallium nitride array light-emitting structure and integrates approximately 50,000 light-emitting units, which can achieve zoned light control to optimize the high-beam lighting range and reduce interference to oncoming cars. Currently, this type of product has been introduced into some mass-produced models.
