With the global storage supply shortage, Microsoft (Microsoft) has raised the prices of all its Surface series products across the board. The current starting prices of the 13-inch Surface Pro 11 and 13.8-inch Surface Laptop 7 are $500 higher than before, rising from $999 to $1,499.
Last year, Microsoft stopped selling the $999 version of Surface Pro 11 and 13.8-inch Surface Laptop 7, and instead focused on the $1,199 version with larger storage space. At the time, it was speculated that this move was to make room for the 12-inch Surface Pro and 13-inch Surface Laptop launched in May last year.
However, these newer models have not been immune to price increases. For example, the starting price of the 12-inch Surface Pro has increased from US$799 to US$1,049, while the 13-inch Surface Laptop has increased from US$899 to US$1,199.
In addition, the 15-inch Surface Laptop now starts at US$1,599, up from US$1,299 in 2024; the top-spec 15-inch model equipped with Snapdragon
This wave of price increases has also made Microsoft's Surface series more difficult to compete in the market, especially in the face of MacBook Neo, which starts at only US$599 and performs better than most Windows laptops. It is reported that Microsoft may launch a new generation of Surface devices this spring or summer, which means that future product prices may remain high-end or even rise further.
