At the end of September, Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd., a provider of high-speed and secure connection solutions, announced that it had completed the acquisition of Hyperlume, Inc., a provider of Micro LED optical interconnect technology.
Hyperlume focuses on the development of MicroLED-based optical interconnect technology for inter-chip communication. Its unique technology uses dedicated ultra-high-speed MicroL ED and ultra-low power circuit design effectively break through the energy consumption and bandwidth bottlenecks of traditional electronic interconnection. It is said that its pluggable active optical cable solution supports 1.6Tbps bandwidth and can be expanded to 3.2Tbps, with a fixed delay of 4ns and optical flight time, and a transmission energy consumption of only 1pJ. /bit supports up to 30 meters distance at the same time.
It is reported that with the surge in demand for massive data sets and parallel processing in AI, cloud computing and ultra-large-scale data centers, the pressure on network bandwidth is profoundly changing the way data is transmitted.
