TrendForce: OLED display shipments will increase by 175% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025

According to the latest research from TrendForce, OLED display (Monitor) shipments are still in a rapid growth stage. As brands continue to launch new products, shipments simultaneously break through new highs, reaching approximately 507,000 units in the first quarter of 2025, an annual increase of 175%. In the second quarter, mainly due to the surge in sales of 27-inch UHD models, shipments are expected to reach 650,000 units. It is estimated that full-year shipments in 2025 will reach 2.58 million units, with an annual growth rate of 81%, and the overall display penetration rate will grow to 2%.

Samsung

Analyzing the market performance of the top five OLED display brands in the first quarter, Samsung ranked first with a market share of more than 22%, and its main 49-inch product shipments accounted for 40%. It is expected that in the second quarter, with the hot sales of 27-inch UHD products, 27-inch OLED displays will become the highest proportion of Samsung shipments.

ASUS

ASUS's market share jumped from fourth to second place in the first quarter, with the gap from Samsung being less than one percentage point. In February and March, ASUS ranked first in single-month shipments. ASUS has invested a lot of resources in OLED displays and is trying various product possibilities, such as portable dual-screen displays, to complete its product line.

MSI

MSI ranks third in OLED displays in the first quarter of 2025 with a market share of 14%. Its solid performance comes from its active deployment of new channels and new OLED products in 2024, which effectively drives a significant increase in display shipments. MSI not only set a record for the highest annual growth rate of monitor shipments of any brand in 2024, reaching 63%, but its OLED monitors also increased by 36 times annually. In addition, the shipment growth of its high-end OLED products has also driven its overall gaming monitor shipments to increase by 69% year-on-year, and its performance is also among the industry leaders.

LGE

TrendForce said that in the first quarter of 2025, LGE ranked fourth in the OLED display market with a market share of 13%. The company's new 45-inch WUHD product launched in the quarter pushed up its shipment share of products of the same size to 25%. However, starting from the second quarter, since LGE has not planned 27-inch UHD products with strong market sales, the overall shipment gap with other OLED display brands is expected to gradually widen.

Dell

Dell’s market share in the first quarter was 11%, temporarily ranking fifth. In the first quarter, the company launched a 27-inch UHD model that is expected to be a hot seller in 2025. It also focused on expanding the business application market and launched a new 31.5-inch 120Hz product. It is expected that the contribution of these two new products to shipments will appear in the second quarter, which is expected to drive Dell's market share ranking to fourth or third place.
