Hot topics of the week: The financial reporting season is coming, and new MLED products/projects continue

This week, the LED industry has been very dynamic, with news about new technologies, new products and projects of Mini/Micro LED constantly coming out. According to incomplete statistics from LEDinside, a total of 28 LED-related companies released their 2024 annual reports this week, and another 50 companies released their first quarter reports for 2025. How are companies performing? Read on for the review below.

The first batch of modules for the Hubei Yiyuanda MLED module production base project will be rolled off the production line soon

According to news from the "Taiye Lake High-tech Zone" on April 26, the first batch of modules for the Hubei Yiyuanda Mini/Micro LED module production base project will be rolled off the production line at the end of April. The project has a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan. Construction will start in December 2024, and the first batch of equipment will be completed in March 2025. The project is currently in the sprint stage of production.

Yuhui Industrial Investment’s new optoelectronic display industry chain industrial park project is expected to be completed in September

According to "Invest Guiyang" news on April 28, Yuhui Industrial Investment's new optoelectronic display industry chain industrial park project is expected to be fully completed in September this year. The total investment of the project is 1.218 billion yuan, focusing on core technologies such as COB packaging and testing, Mini/Micro LED displays and IC chips. The first production line of the project has been put into operation, and 20 production lines have been built to achieve large-scale production.

Minwei Technology's new generation printed circuit board project for Mini LED starts construction

Changle District, Fuzhou, Fujian Province launched 17 major projects in the second quarter of 2025 on April 24, including the new generation printed circuit board project for Mini LED invested and constructed by Minwei Technology. The project was officially launched to develop and produce new circuit boards for Mini LED technology.

Hongxi Technology's silicon-based OLED micro display module production base starts construction

On April 28, Anhui Hongxi Micro Display Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hongxi Technology, held a groundbreaking ceremony for a silicon-based OLED micro display module project. The project has a total investment of 2 billion yuan and will build a high-end digital intelligent manufacturing base.

KOPIN wins Micro LED full-color microdisplay military contract

On April 24, US microdisplay manufacturer KOPIN announced that the company had won a new contract from the US Army, which involves a soldier display program research project to study the application of Micro LED full-color microdisplays in military XR heads-up displays.

Hongshi Intelligent’s single-chip full-color Micro LED technology achieves a breakthrough

On April 25, Micro LED company Hongshi Intelligent announced that at present, Hongshi Intelligent has successfully lit up a 0.12-inch single-chip full-color sample with a white light brightness of 1.2 million nits. The company plans to increase this indicator to 2 million nits by the end of the year.

Huike launches the world’s first 116-inch Mini LED giant screen display

On April 29, Huike announced the launch of the world's first 116-inch Mini LED giant screen display. The display is manufactured based on the G8.6 high-generation line and uses MMG overcutting technology to increase the utilization rate of the glass substrate to 94%. It uses 4K resolution and supports multiple refresh rates from 120Hz to 170Hz, enabling a display of up to 330Hz.

DJI’s new drone remote control will use a 7-inch MiniLED touch screen

DJI will release its new drone Mavic 4 Pro on May 13. The drone has a 7-inch foldable Mini LED backlit touch screen with improved brightness and color performance. The drone weighs 1,063 grams, has a built-in microphone, and is equipped with a stepless electronic ND filter. It supports direct connection to DJI Mic and has an ultra-long-distance 10-bit HDR image transmission function of 30 kilometers.

BOE launches ultra-high color gamut MLED backlight giant screen TV solution

BOE has launched a 110-inch MLED backlight giant screen TV solution that integrates ADS Pro and QD technology and uses 10,000 Mini LEDs to achieve 5,000 zone light control, reaching a peak brightness of 5,000 nit, 125% DCI-P3 ultra-high color gamut and a contrast ratio of 8 million:1.

Huawei Vision Smart Screen 5SE pre-sale, first equipped with Mini LED

Huawei Vision Smart Screen 5SE has started pre-sale on April 25, available in three sizes of 55, 65, and 75 inches, with a pre-sale price starting from 2,599 yuan, and is equipped with Mini LED backlight technology for the first time in the SE series. This new product uses a self-developed Honghu chip and is equipped with a 4K ultra-high-definition full screen that supports high brightness, high contrast and wide color gamut.

Skyworth launches A4 series Mini LED TV

Skyworth has launched the new A4F series Mini LED TV, focusing on its 100-level Mini LED backlight partition and 4K 144Hz high refresh rate panel. This series offers 75- and 85-inch options, with initial prices starting from 3,499 yuan. The TV is equipped with 4GB of memory and supports multiple interfaces such as MEMC motion compensation, 2.2-channel audio, and HDMI 2.1.

Hisense Xiaomo E5Q Pro MiniLED TV goes on sale

On April 27, Hisense Xiaomo E5Q Pro TV officially went on sale. The new product is first launched with a thousand-level partition U+Mini LED halo control system, supports 300Hz system-level high brush, and is priced starting from 3,699 yuan.

[Corporate Performance]

This week, the LED industry ushered in a wave of concentrated disclosure of annual reports in 2024 and first quarter reports in 2025.

In the 2024 annual report, a number of LED display and lighting related companies released their respective operating results. Among them, companies such as Bull Group, Langte Intelligence, Southern Light, Foshan Lighting, and Chenfeng Technology achieved double growth in revenue and net profit.

In the first quarter report of 2025, many companies such as TCL Technology, BOE, Sanan Optoelectronics, AMEC, Hisense Video, Huayang Group, Alto Electronics, and Nanjiguang achieved double growth in revenue and net profit.

Among them, TCL Electronics announced global TV shipment data for the first quarter of 2025 on April 27. TCL Electronics’ global TV shipments reached 6.51 million units, a year-on-year increase of 11.4%. In addition, due to the increase in the proportion of mid-to-high-end products, TCL Electronics TV sales increased by 22.3% year-on-year.
