This week, the LED industry ushered in a number of major project developments and product technology breakthroughs. Huike, BOE, Unilumin Technology and other companies have accelerated their production capacity layout and promoted industrial upgrading. In terms of new products and technologies, Nationstar Optoelectronics has launched innovative MIP panels, Savlus has released a variety of new quantum dot MLED products, Thunderbird has innovatively launched high-performance AR glasses, and Cree LED has released a variety of new products to help the industry move to a higher level.

Huike signed a full-color M-LED new display chip base

On May 24, the Shunqing District People's Government and Huike officially signed a cooperation agreement. Huike plans to invest in the construction of a full-color M-LED new display chip base project in Shunqing District. The total investment of the project is about 10 billion yuan, with a designed monthly production capacity of 1 million pieces. It will be constructed in three phases. The first phase has a production capacity of 150,000 pieces and mainly produces new full-color M-LED display chips.

BOE Mini LED related projects mass production

On May 26, BOE’s 6th generation new semiconductor display device production line went into full mass production. The production line project has a total investment of 29 billion yuan, covers an area of ​​420,000 square meters, and has a designed monthly production capacity of 50,000 pieces. The production line takes LTPO (low temperature polycrystalline oxide) and LTPS (low temperature polysilicon) technology as the core, focusing on the R&D and production of high-end products such as VR display panels, small and medium-sized high value-added IT display panels, and vehicle-mounted display panels.

The implementation entity of the MLED production base project of Unilumin Technology has completed the registration

Previously, Unilumin Technology announced that it would invest in the construction of a Micro and Mini LED display and lighting production base in Nanchang. The total investment of the project will not exceed 600 million yuan, all of which will be self-raised. Recently, its wholly-owned subsidiary Nanchangzhou Mingguangxian Technology has been established and completed industrial and commercial registration with a registered capital of 50 million yuan. The project aims to optimize production capacity layout and improve customer service capabilities.

Dehao Runda plans to invest 50 million yuan in building an automotive LED packaging project

On the evening of May 29, Dehao Runda announced that its holding subsidiary Anhui Ruituo plans to sign an investment agreement with the Bengbu High-tech Zone Management Committee to invest in the construction of automotive LED packaging projects. The total investment of the project is 50 million yuan, with an initial investment of approximately 30 million yuan. The first phase is planned to be completed by December 2025.

Lingcan Technology’s Dongguan high-end LED display headquarters project was capped off

On May 28, Lingcan Technology’s Dongguan high-end LED display headquarters project was successfully capped off in Xiegang Town, Dongguan City. The total investment of the project is 400 million yuan, of which fixed asset investment reaches 320 million yuan. The project mainly focuses on the research and development, production, sales and display of LED full-color display series products. Once completed and put into operation, the output value is expected to exceed 2 billion yuan.

Yirui Technology plans to invest in the construction of Micro OLED micro display backplane project

On May 23, Yirui Technology issued an announcement announcing that it plans to invest 1.8 billion yuan in building a silicon-based OLED microdisplay backplane production project, of which 600 million yuan will be used to increase capital of its wholly-owned subsidiary Yirui Hefei. The project will purchase additional advanced equipment in the existing factory and increase production capacity by 5,000 pieces per month to meet the needs of customers and Shiya Technology. It is expected to complete large-scale mass production within 12 months.

Guangpu Co., Ltd. adjusts the contents of the overseas base expansion project

On May 28, Guangpu Co., Ltd. issued an announcement, announcing that it would adjust the implementation method of the "Overseas Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Base Expansion Project" to leasing the factory building for decoration first, and the scheduled production time would be extended to December 31, 2027. This move is in response to changes in the international trade situation and market demand, and aims to quickly put part of the production capacity into production to meet customer needs while reducing financial pressure and investment risks.

Saphlux releases multiple new quantum dot MLED products

Saphlux uses the world’s unique nanopore quantum dot (NPQD?) patented technology to achieve in-situ integration of MLED chips and quantum dots. The company is the first to apply this technology to the commercial production of quantum dot red light chips, and has applied it on a large scale in quantum dot COB direct display products, covering an area of ​​thousands of square meters. Recently, Savlus has launched quantum dot MLED products in customized wavelength bands such as yellow light and green light, breaking through the limitations of traditional red, blue and green chips.

Thunderbird innovatively releases Micro LED/OLED AR glasses

Thunderbird Innovation released a variety of new AR glasses on May 27. The flagship Thunderbird X3 Pro uses a binocular full-color Micro LED light engine and nanophotolithography optical waveguide technology, supports 16.77 million full-color colors, high-brightness display and multiple AI functions, and weighs only 76g. The entry-level Air 3s series uses Micro OLED+BirdBath optical solution, with 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It focuses on indoor applications and supports multi-device connection.

Cree LED launches new products for 2025

Cree LED released a number of new products at the 2025 seminar, including high-efficiency dual-color-temperature COB series, Pro9 high-efficiency LED using KSF technology, CTW series that supports wide color temperature adjustment; small and medium-power flip-chip 5050C E Class and stable H-K series; optimized 7070, 3030 and 2835 series; Photography dedicated for plant lighting Select and precise dimming Precision series; as well as high-density circular chip XP-LR, XP-GR and other professional lighting products.

German company launches first Linux notebook with MiniLED screen

Recently, Germany's TUXEDO Computers launched Stellaris 16-Gen7 for gamers and professional users, claiming to be the first Linux notebook equipped with a Mini LED screen. The machine is equipped with an HDR Mini LED screen with a resolution of 2560×1600, a peak brightness of 1000 nits in HDR mode, covering 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a refresh rate of 300Hz.

Huike launches 8K HOD MiniLED display

On May 29, Huike announced the successful development and lighting of two HOD (Hyper Optimized Display) displays, 27-inch 4K and 36.5-inch 8K. Among them, the 27-inch 4K HOD monitor is specially designed for e-sports, supports 240Hz refresh rate, and uses 1152 partition Mini LED backlight to greatly improve the contrast.

Shengse launches two new MiniLED display products

Recently, SANC launched two 27-inch Mini LED displays on JD.com: DM75 is equipped with a 2K 320Hz (1152 partitions) Mini LED panel, supports 320Hz refresh rate, and is priced at approximately 1,799 yuan; S72MV is equipped with a 2K 180Hz (180 partitions) Mini LED panel, with a light sensor, supports 10-bit color, and is priced at approximately 999 yuan.

Hon Hai teamed up with a research team to successfully break through the multi-wavelength μ-LED technology

The research team of Hon Hai Research Institute’s Semiconductor Institute, a subsidiary of Hon Hai, and the research team from Taiwan University of China and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia, successfully broke through the multi-wavelength μ-LED technology to achieve high-speed visible light communication and inter-chip optical interconnection.
