On April 25, Micro LED company Hongshi Intelligent held a media communication meeting to introduce the company’s breakthroughs in key technologies, especially its progress in single-chip full-color Micro LED technology.
At present, Hongshi Intelligent has successfully lit up a 0.12-inch single-chip full-color sample with a white light brightness of 1.2 million nits. The company plans to increase this indicator to 2 million nits by the end of the year and continue to optimize light efficiency.
This product uses the company's independently developed Hybrid Stack Structure and quantum dot color conversion technology to achieve the integration of blue-green epitaxial wafers and the accurate presentation of red light. Through unique process design, Hongshi Intelligence has expanded the red light emitting area, thereby improving light efficiency and brightness.
Hongshi Intelligent’s hybrid stack structure simplifies the production process, reduces process errors, reduces production costs, and promotes the development of Micro LED technology. Although single-chip full-color technology faces cost and yield challenges, the company is confident in its future development. It plans to deploy color production in the Moganshan project and expects to start mass production and commissioning in the second half of next year.
Since its establishment in 2017, Hongshi Intelligence has been focusing on the R&D and manufacturing of Micro LED microdisplay chips. In 2020, Hongshi Intelligent launched technological transformation and industrial upgrading, established cooperation with the Changchun Institute of Optics and Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and established a R&D team of nearly 100 people in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Suzhou and other places.
In terms of products, Hongshi Intelligent’s Aurora series includes three models: 0.12-inch, 0.61-inch and 0.69-inch. Aurora A6 is the world’s brightest 0.12-inch Micro LED micro-display chip with a resolution of 640x480 and a brightness of up to 8 million nits. It also provides multiple interface versions, such as MIPI, SPI and QSPI.
