GE Current completes acquisition of Hubbell C&I lighting business

Recently, North American lighting manufacturer GE Current, a Daintree company (hereinafter referred to as "Current") announced that the company had completed the acquisition of the commercial and industrial lighting business (C&I) of Hubbell Lighting in the United States in February this year, and merged it into a high-end full industry chain lighting enterprise group. The Hubbell brand will be renamed to the new brand Current.

Information shows that Hubble Lighting's C&I lighting business is mainly positioned in the fields of professional lighting, lighting control and intelligent interconnected lighting, providing a series of indoor and outdoor lighting products for industrial, commercial and institutional applications. Sales in 2020 were approximately US$515 million.

In October 2021, Current announced its intention to acquire Hubbell Lighting's C&I lighting business for US$350 million to create a leading end-to-end lighting solutions business. The acquisition covers multiple sub-brands of the business, including Area Architectural Lighting, Beacon, Litecontrol, Kim, Columbia, Prescolite, Alera, Dual-Lite, Compass, Hubbell Outdoor Lighting, etc.

Current said that after completing this acquisition, the company's strategic focus will focus on professional lighting and control system solutions; expand marketing territory and regions, use more efficient digital tools to serve customers; new product portfolios and reserves, and integrate patented technologies to provide customers with more added value.
