For US$250, sports brand Reebok joins hands with Lucyd to launch AI smart glasses

According to foreign media reports, Reebok is investing in the smart glasses market and launching a series of smart audio glasses products with the Reebok brand. The products launched this time belong to the Reebok Optical series. There are six new frames to choose from. The overall design has changed from the previous sporty style to more everyday. It also supports prescription lenses, progressive lenses, bifocal lenses and anti-blue light lenses.

According to reports, this series of products weighs about 1.2 ounces (about 34 grams), which is about 20% lighter than the Lyte series launched by Lucyd last year. Some models also offer “slim sizing” versions, suitable for adults and teenagers with narrow faces. The new products in this series are priced at US$250, and the specific launch time has not yet been announced.

Previously, Reebok has cooperated with smart glasses manufacturer Lucyd to launch audio glasses products, and the latest generation of products is further targeted at a wider range of people, especially users who require prescription lenses. Different from the earlier designs that were more focused on sports scenes, the new products are no longer limited to use situations such as cycling or fishing.

The product is similar in function to the smart glasses recently launched by Meta, but the camera design is cancelled. Lucyd said that this design is intentional, emphasizing that "there will no longer be the awkward question of 'Are you recording?' when used, and it is not restricted by the venue, and reduces the awkwardness when wearing it.

The new generation product also includes a number of functional upgrades, including a smart hinge design that can automatically turn on and off, and a touch-based user interface that can be used to control the glasses, start the voice assistant, answer calls and adjust the volume, and has better audio performance than the previous generation product.

The launch of Reebok and Lucyd's co-branded glasses reflects the current expansion trend in the field of smart wear. With the continuous entry of various brands, competition in this field is expected to further intensify.
