Equipped with MicroLED, Vuzix AR glasses receive the largest additional orders

On March 12, the American smart glasses company Vuzix announced that Xander™, a company from Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, has purchased Vuzix Shield™ smart glasses from the company. This is the largest additional order Vuzix has received to date. This order is designed to meet the growing demand for Xander Glasses™ solutions. The product and its accompanying software provide real-time captioning to help people with hearing impairments communicate more easily.

It is reported that Xander Glasses products use Vuzix Shield smart glasses, which can be used out of the box. Users only need to press a button and put on glasses to see dialogue subtitles in real time within their field of vision, thus helping the hearing-impaired achieve barrier-free communication.

Xander Glasses are 100% self-contained, with a clean design and a simple on/off function that requires no smartphone or cloud connection, ensuring reliability and privacy, making it suitable for homes, workplaces and public environments.

According to Vuzix, hearing loss affects an increasing number of people around the world, including veterans, people exposed to long-term noise environments, and the elderly. By combining Vuzix Shield smart glasses with Xander's powerful embedded voice captioning software, Xander Glasses products meet the needs of people with hearing impairments. Vuzix will continue to support Xander in expanding its hearing impairment solutions in the future.

Data shows that Vuzix Shield smart glasses are equipped with The Micro LED display uses monochrome green display technology, has a peak brightness of up to 2 million nits and a contrast ratio of 100,000:1, and can provide clear and sharp image display under complex lighting conditions. Its waveguide optical system adopts an advanced 3D binocular design, with a horizontal field of view of 30°, a single-eye resolution of 1268×720, and a refresh rate of up to 60Hz.

It is worth noting that Vuzix recently announced its company performance for 2024. During the reporting period, Vuzix achieved revenue of US$5.755 million, a year-on-year decrease of 52%. The main reason for the decline in revenue was the decrease in sales of M400 smart glasses; in addition, compared with 2023, the company's losses further expanded. Looking forward to 2025, Vuzix will promote long-term cooperation with customers, expand ODM/OEM cooperation, and expand business in the defense field.
