Recently, BOE released two high-brightness HUD heads-up display solutions based on COG (glass-based) Micro LED technology.
One of them is a 6.2-inch P0.2 RGB Micro LED HUD, which uses self-developed Micro LED chips and backplane technology. The module brightness can reach 30,000 nits. This solution combines LTPS backplane to improve device stability, and supports seamless splicing under high PPI through GOA design and special wiring structure, making it suitable for a variety of usage scenarios.

The other is a monochrome glass-based Micro LED HUD with a pixel pitch of 58 μm, a pixel density of 431PPI, and a peak brightness of 300,000 nits, which can maintain visibility in strong light environments. This solution combines the high mobility characteristics of LTPS with low-resistance materials to improve driving capabilities and reduce power consumption, and cooperates with optical microstructure design to achieve improved brightness.

BOE has now formed a certain foundation in glass-based mass production processes, active matrix drives, etc., and has gradually covered key process links such as LTPS backplanes, LED chips, transfer and packaging. In the future, we will continue to promote the optimization of LTPS+Micro LED technology under the COG architecture and expand its application scenarios such as automotive, commercial display, advertising, e-sports, and smart screens.
In the first quarter of 2025, BOE achieved operating income of 50.599 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.27%, setting a record high in the company's first quarter revenue; the net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 1.614 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 64.06%.
In terms of MLED business, Mini LED backlight device revenue increased by 215% year-on-year. In terms of direct display business, BOE has launched COB small-pitch LED indoor displays in overseas markets; in the domestic market, it continues to deepen cooperation with key customers, and has provided customized MLED display solutions for projects such as Beijing Digital Economy Computing Center and Hefei Yintai in77.
In terms of production capacity construction, in the first quarter of this year, BOE Huacan Optoelectronics held a product delivery ceremony for the world's first 6-inch Micro LED mass production line. This production line mainly produces Micro LED wafers and pixel devices, targeting large-size commercial displays, AR/VR equipment, wearable devices and other application fields. After the project reaches full production, the annual production capacity is expected to reach 24,000 6-inch wafers and 45,000 KK Micro LED pixel devices. In addition, Zhuhai BOE’s COB production line has achieved mass production delivery.
