On the evening of March 31, BOE announced that due to recent changes in international policies and market environment and other factors, in order to optimize project benefits and control investment risks, it plans to adjust the total investment, capital structure and other plans of the second phase of the Vietnam complete machine project.
This time, it is planned to adjust the total investment in the project from 2.02 billion yuan to 1.664 billion yuan, and the business scope will be adjusted from the original production of televisions (TV), monitors (MNT), and ESL complete machines to the production of TV/MNT complete machines, ESL modules and complete machines, and MNT modules.
BOE Vietnam Phase II project team has completed pre-communication with Vietnam’s planning and investment department, confirming that this adjustment is a regular filing procedure, and the process is clear and operable to ensure compliance with the project.
According to previous news, BOE established a wholly-owned subsidiary BOE Video (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. in Vietnam through its subsidiary Beijing Video to invest in the construction of the second phase of the complete machine project in Vietnam. As of now, the construction work of the project has been basically completed, and mass production will begin in 2025. The project's original production capacity is planned to produce more than 14 million TV terminals/display terminals, more than 50 million electronic paper terminals, and more than 5 million vehicle-mounted terminals annually.
BOE stated that this change aims to dynamically optimize resource allocation to improve project risk resistance and investment returns. This adjustment directly reduces the occupation of working capital, improves project cash flow and return on investment, enhances operational resilience through supply chain reorganization, and achieves project strategic goals.
