Apple CEO Cook is fully committed to promoting the development of augmented reality AR glasses

The Apple Vision Pro, which was launched last year, did not cause much response due to problems such as high price and overweight body.

Well-known Apple reporter Mark Gurman said that Vision Pro is not Apple’s ultimate target device. Apple CEO Cook is fully promoting the research and development of augmented reality AR glasses, vowing to surpass its rival Meta.

It is reported that Cook has been harboring the grand idea of creating real AR glasses for ten years, which can be worn by users all day long, are lightweight and portable, and can also provide a visual experience similar to visionOS.

To this end, Apple will continue to invest heavily in Vision Pro and visionOS in order to continuously improve visionOS and lay the foundation for the advent of AR glasses.

The latest report released by TrendForce shows that AR smart glasses are gradually replacing virtual reality and mixed reality devices, and are gradually becoming the focus of the technology industry.

Standalone AR glasses do not need to rely on other devices and have higher flexibility and portability. Users can use AR glasses anytime and anywhere for various applications, such as navigation, information query, entertainment, etc.

However, the current technical challenges faced by AR glasses include the integration of high-performance hardware, heat dissipation, battery life, etc., which need to be overcome by Apple one by one.
