400 million, BOE Materials Company received another capital increase

On May 13, the Qichacha APP showed that Beijing BOE Materials Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "BOE Materials Technology") has recently undergone industrial and commercial changes again, and its registered capital has increased from 520 million yuan to 920 million yuan. It is reported that this is the company's second capital increase this year. The first capital increase occurred on March 23 this year, with the registered capital increasing from 500 million yuan to 520 million yuan.

Data show that BOE Materials Technology was established in August 2024 and is wholly owned by BOE. Its business scope includes new material technology research and development, new material technology promotion services, chemical product sales, and electronic special materials sales, etc.

This capital increase may be related to its recent layout. On March 24, BOE Materials Technology signed a contract with Okura Industries of Japan. The two parties will jointly establish a joint venture in Hefei to target core film materials required for large-size display panels. On March 31, a new joint venture company was established, named Hefei Jingcang New Material Technology Co., Ltd., with a registered capital of 600 million yuan, of which BOE Material Technology invested 396 million yuan and held 66% of the shares.

Okura Industrial stated that it established a joint venture with BOE to seize opportunities in the global display market that continues to grow rapidly and expand its business in the information electronics field. By cooperating with BOE, the company will expand sales of acrylic films for polarizing plate protection for large-size displays and retardation films for IPS viewing angle compensation, and establish market share.

According to analysis by industry insiders quoted by the Shanghai Securities News, BOE, as the world's leading display panel company, has introduced the technology and experience of Japanese material companies this time and selected the display industry cluster in Hefei, which may further improve the local display industry ecology and enhance the company's competitiveness in core materials such as polarizers.
