ams OSRAM releases Q3 financial report

On November 18, ams OSRAM officially announced its Q3 performance report for fiscal year 2025.


During the Q3 reporting period, the company achieved revenue of 853 million euros (approximately RMB 6.55 billion), a month-on-month increase of 10% and a year-on-year decrease of 3%. The revenue data was above the company's expectations (790 million to 890 million euros).
Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (adj. EBITDA) was 166 million euros, and the adjusted profit margin before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization was 19.5%, a month-on-month increase of 70 basis points and a year-on-year increase of 70 basis points; adjusted net profit reached 27 million euros, a month-on-month increase of 50%.

Combined with the first half of the year data, ams OSRAM achieved cumulative revenue of 2.448 billion euros (approximately RMB 18.8 billion) in the first three quarters of 2025 (January-September); adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (adj. EBITDA) totaled 447 million euros, corresponding to a profit margin of 18%; adjusted net profit accumulated to 22 million euros, a significant increase compared with the same period last year (1 million euros).

Despite the challenges of the weakening US dollar and rising raw material prices, the company's revenue, profits and cash flow in the second half of the year all performed strongly.
Financial data shows that, thanks to the advancement of the "Re-establish the base" strategic plan, as of Q3 2025, ams OSRAM has achieved annualized cost savings of approximately 185 million euros. It is worth noting that ams OSRAM's free cash flow (FCF) turned positive in this quarter, reaching 43 million euros, a significant improvement from -14 million euros in the previous quarter, reflecting the improvement in operating efficiency.
Looking back at ams OSRAM's various businesses in Q3, during the reporting period, the semiconductor business segment contributed an overall revenue of 637 million euros, accounting for approximately 75% of the group's total revenue. Excluding non-core portfolio and currency effects, the core semiconductor business achieved comparable growth of approximately 9%.

Among them, the optoelectronic semiconductor (OS) business achieved revenue of 365 million euros, a month-on-month increase of 6%. The growth of this business is mainly due to the Seasonal recovery in demand for physical lighting and slight growth in sales in the automotive sector. Adjusted EBITDA was 82 million euros, with a profit margin of 22.6%.
The CMOS sensor and ASIC (CSA) business performed well, with revenue during the reporting period reaching 271 million euros, a significant increase of 13% month-on-month and 2% year-on-year. This was primarily due to seasonal peaks in demand for consumer handheld device components and further stabilization of sales in industrial and medical applications. The division's adjusted profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization increased to 64 million euros, a month-on-month increase of 49% and a year-on-year increase of 33%.
Lamps and Systems (L&S) achieved revenue of 216 million euros, an increase of 13% month-on-month, accounting for 25% of the company's total revenue. The segment's sequential growth was primarily driven by the typical seasonal peak season in the automotive aftermarket.

In terms of technological innovation and strategic cooperation, ams OSRAM signed an extensive patent cross-licensing agreement with Nichia on October 16, covering thousands of patented innovations in the fields of LED and laser technology, aiming to provide customers with stronger intellectual property protection. this In addition, ams OSRAM has also launched an industry-leading 2D direct time of flight (dToF) sensor platform, which can be used in fields such as smartphones and logistics robots.
Looking forward to Q4 of 2025, ams OSRAM estimates that the company's Q4 revenue range will be 790 million to 890 million euros, and the adjusted profit margin before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization is expected to be 17.5% (±1.5%).

ams OSRAM expects that the semiconductor business will follow a typical seasonal pattern, with a slight decline in Q4, while demand for the traditional automotive lighting business in the aftermarket will remain strong. At the same time, ams OSRAM confirmed that free cash flow for the full year of 2025 will exceed 100 million euros, and expects total design-win in 2025 to reach 5 billion euros.
