Yuantai upgrades the e-paper control chip architecture, allowing large-size advertising billboards to play videos smoothly

Recently, Yuantai Technology released a new generation of e-paper control chip architecture. This product uses the color e-paper timing control chip T2000 as the core, which can greatly improve the smooth performance of large-size e-paper signage for video playback. When used in retail advertising displays, advertising images can be played simultaneously.

After the control chip architecture is optimized, the application scenario of the 75-inch E Ink Kaleido electronic paper signage display uses half of the screen to play dynamic images (equivalent to a resolution of 5120×1440), achieving a display effect of 11 fps (frames per second), which is nearly 3 times higher than in the past, significantly shortening the update time. In addition, the 75-inch billboard displays partial animation playback (resolution approximately 1760×2400), and can even achieve 13fps display performance.

The new generation architecture optimizes the data processing process, so that image transmission and display are no longer a single path, but can operate simultaneously. While displaying the image, the system can prepare the next frame of image, effectively improving display efficiency and update speed.

Yuantai said that through this new generation architecture, e-paper has the ability to support dynamic image playback, accelerating the application scenario from static display to dynamic playback, and is especially helpful for e-paper signage in retail display and public information display and other fields, bringing more possibilities for the presentation of brand content and public information.
