With an annual output of 120 million sets of Micro LED screens, the first phase of JBD Hefei factory project was completed

On October 18, Shanghai Jade Bird Display Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "JBD") announced the official completion of the first phase of its microdisplay R&D and manufacturing project in Hefei, Anhui. The current phase of the project can support the shipment of hundreds of thousands of micro-LED micro-displays per month, and after completion, the production capacity will reach 120 million units of Micro LED micro-displays per year.

It is reported that JBD Hefei factory is located in the Comprehensive Bonded Zone of Hefei Economic and Technological Development Zone. The project is constructed in two phases. After it is fully completed and put into operation, it will become the largest Micro LED micro-display production base. The total investment amount in the first phase is approximately RMB 1.5 billion, covering an area of ​​approximately 79 acres, with a total construction area of ​​approximately 42,000 square meters.

Dr. Li Qiming, founder and president of JBD, said that Hefei has a good investment environment and complete industrial chain support, and is an important strategic base for JBD to deploy micro-displays. The completion of the first phase of the project not only marks a comprehensive upgrade of JBD's manufacturing and mass production capabilities, but will also significantly enhance its position in independent research and development and technological innovation in the field of Micro LED microdisplays.

According to data, JBD was founded in October 2015 and focuses on the development of Micro LED microdisplays. Currently, JBD’s mass-produced products include 0.13-inch, 0.22-inch and 0.31-inch Micro LED microdisplays; single/color light engines; binocular color light modules, etc. Its products have been used in a variety of AR glasses products.
