The United States announces the 2015 LED and OLED research fund plan
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) will announce formal funding plans for the Fiscal Year 2015 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs on August 11, 2014. The agency stated that materials-centered research in the fields of LED and OLED is within the agency's consideration.
Prior to the official announcement, the U.S. Department of Energy will host a webinar for interested applicants. A review of technology areas that are within the scope of consideration by the U.S. Department of Energy will be conducted on July 22. A second webinar will be held on August 15 to review the application process.
Letter of intent for financing application must be submitted before September 2. Formal applications will also close on October 14th. The U.S. Department of Energy is expected to announce the results in January, and grants will begin disbursing in February.
In addition, the U.S. Department of Energy has set the date for the next solid-state lighting (SSL) market development seminar from November 11 to 13, 2014. The agency will reveal the location shortly.
