On April 20, according to the Electronic Publicity System of the Korean Financial Supervisory Service, South Korean equipment company YAS signed a supply contract for evaporation equipment for display mass production with TCL CSOT. The contract signing date is April 17, 2026, and the contract period is until December 31, 2027. The contract amount has not been disclosed due to commercial confidentiality.
The equipment purchased this time will be used in the construction of TCL CSOT’s 8.6th generation printed OLED production line (t8 project). This production line is the world's first high-generation production line using inkjet printing OLED technology, with a total investment of approximately 29.5 billion yuan. The t8 project is designed to have a monthly processing capacity of approximately 22,500 glass substrates (2290mm×2620mm). Printed OLED products will be prioritized for use in medium-sized fields such as monitors, laptops, and tablets. The project will officially start construction in October 2025, and the construction of the main project will start in December; an investment of 2 billion will be completed in the first quarter of 2026, and the construction of the main structure will be fully launched.
Information shows that YAS is mainly engaged in the research and development, manufacturing and sales of OLED process equipment. Its core products include OLED mass production evaporation systems, evaporation source components, etc.
According to information previously disclosed by Binet, TCL China Star Optoelectronics has selected a number of Japanese and Korean equipment suppliers in its preliminary bidding for its 8.6th generation OLED production line. Among them, YAS will provide evaporation equipment; Canon and Panasonic will supply inkjet printers; AVACO and Aifake will provide sputtering machines.
