AR glasses have three new underlying technologies: 3D display, 3D spatial perception, and 3D interaction
Nreal founder and CEO Xu Chi said at the press conference that the emergence of computers and mobile phones has promoted the development of information technology, but at the same time, it has also limited our interaction with digital information to two-dimensional screens. The mission of the next-generation computing platform is to promote the dimensionality of the mobile Internet to the spatial Internet, deeply integrate digital information with the real world, and return to the native three-dimensional space experience of the human world. Nreal believes that its direction will be AR glasses.
As a terminal device for the spatial Internet, AR glasses need to have three new underlying technologies: 3D display, 3D spatial perception and 3D interaction.
3D display. Regarding screen display, consumers are always pursuing a larger display area and a smaller and more portable volume. In AR devices, not only should the ultimate "big and small" screen display solution be provided, but also a 3D real immersive look and feel should be provided. In this regard, Nreal has created a self-developed binocular spatial imaging system - the "Jinghong Ruiying" optical engine, which can not only provide a 3D panoramic space giant screen of more than 200 inches, but is as light as sunglasses, truly realizing "big, small, and 3D".
3D space perception. AR glasses are committed to bringing a spatial experience that combines reality and reality. To place virtual content in the real world and achieve real-time, seamless, and true integration with real space requires excellent 3D space perception capabilities. Nreal AR glasses use self-developed, multi-sensor fusion SLAM technology, which can calculate eye movements in real time (millisecond level) and with high precision (millimeter level). The mirror moves with 6 degrees of freedom in three-dimensional space, allowing users to see virtual content that is stable relative to the real space position.
3D interaction. How should AR glasses define a new way of interaction? Xu Chi believes that the value of AR lies in allowing digital information to return to the three-dimensional world, and interactions should also follow the native methods of the real world. Specifically, in real life, for distant objects, we are accustomed to pointing with our hands; for nearby objects, we directly point, press, drag, and drag with our hands. To this end, Nreal has innovatively launched a combination of far/near field interaction solutions: far field, the first "mobile phone virtual ray" to realize selection, dragging, and zooming; near field, based on gesture tracking recognition algorithm, gives users the ability to control gestures.
Nreal " zen="" micro="" text-indent:="">Nreal X adopts a fluid sci-fi aesthetic design, with a binocular SLAM camera and an RGB camera, a matte skin-friendly material casing and a versatile black color scheme. Combined with a lightweight design, the whole machine weighs only 106g. It can not only convey a sci-fi future temperament, but also take into account the exquisite and lightweight needs for street use. It can be called a new generation of technological fashion items.
NrealX creates an AR six-degree real space based on the self-developed 6DoF (degree of freedom) spatial positioning intelligent algorithm of real-time positioning and mapping (SLAM). It uses only two SLAM cameras and a minimum cost/number of sensors to compare with high-cost enterprise-level AR headsets in terms of accuracy and stability. It has the current The first-class full-dimensional spatial perception capabilities in XR devices allow users to experience real spatial fusion, real somatosensory interaction, and explore full-scenario AR applications.
