The LED industry is an emerging industry that has grown up in the wave of transformation and development in Shanxi. It is a successful example of Shanxi's resource-based enterprises and private entrepreneurs transforming into high-tech industries.
Walking into the Shanxi Yongchang Technology LED Industrial Park factory in Youyu County, you can see that the production lines are running at high speed, and batches of LED lighting products pass through the central operation and go down the production line smoothly... The workshop is dust-free and there is no pollution at all. Every visitor will feel excited after seeing it.
This is not an ordinary industrial processing project. It takes the crown among the three key projects of high and new technology, green energy-saving industry, and transformation and development of the province and the city. As the first high-tech enterprise to settle in Youyu County, the construction of Yongchang Technology LED Industrial Park reflects Youyu County’s commitment to promoting green and environmentally friendly development in the industrial field. The entire project will invest more than 5 billion yuan and adopt internationally advanced LED technology overall design and production processes to build a semiconductor green lighting industrial park integrating production, research and development, application and market. The project covers an area of approximately 430 acres and will be constructed in three phases. After the project is completed, it will cover the entire midstream and downstream LED industry chain and lead the rapid development and progress of the low-carbon, energy-saving and environmentally friendly industry.
The person in charge of the company said that after the project is completed, it will produce more than 4 million LED energy-saving lamps, bulbs, spotlights, downlights and street lamps annually, in total. It produces 80,000 LED chips and 60,000 IC chips every month, creates an average annual output value of 6.5 billion yuan, pays taxes of 800 million yuan, and provides more than 3,500 jobs, greatly optimizing the county economic structure of Youyu County and improving the quality of development.
Yongchang Technology LED Industrial Park is just one of the many typical cases of developing LED industry in our province.
In the photoelectric industrial park in the south of Changzhi City, it is an industrial park that gathers the entire led industrial chain of the country. In the park, nine enterprises have gathered together, forming an up-and-down and self-contained production pattern, forming an industrial cluster in the true sense.
In the development of the led industry, the Changzhi Municipal Government has always followed the principle of letting enterprises sing "protagonists" instead of "unicorns". Around the project construction, the government established the "front-line studio", "wall internal affairs enterprise office, wall external affairs government management", fully responsible for solving the land, capital, electricity, environmental protection, formalities and other problems encountered in the project construction, and in accordance with the industrial park for overall planning and implementation. In less than half a year, the led packaging project completed the construction of the plant, the installation of equipment, and the production of the first batch of products. At the same time, we continued to increase the government's policy guidance and financial support, rolled out the two major projects of led epitaxial chips and led sapphire substrates, and spent 3 years penetrating the entire industry chain, producing lighting products with independent intellectual property rights and the first TV whiteboard in the province, achieving a major breakthrough in the development of the province's led industry.
The development of Changzhi’s LED industry has ended the history of domestic epitaxy and chips without intellectual property rights, and achieved the innovation of my country’s first technologically original strategic basic industry. This LED industry cluster, with enterprises as the main body, parks as the carrier, and vertical integration, has become a successful example of the transformation of resource-based enterprises and private capital into high-tech in our province, and a new model for the development of my country's LED industry. Currently, the park is accelerating the transformation of core technologies into industrial advantages, and is striving to build the world's largest sapphire production base, LED backlight supply base and high-end lighting fixtures supply base.
