Savlus Completes Series C Financing of RMB 300 Million to Increase MicroLED Full-color Display for AR Glasses

According to the WeChat public account of Safulus on April 7, the company recently completed a C round of financing of 300 million yuan. This round of funds will be mainly used to accelerate the mass production and delivery of full-color Micro LED microdisplays for AR.

Investors include Xi'an West High-tech Investment Fund, Wuxi Liangxi Science and Technology Innovation Industry Investment Fund, Anhui Jin'an Industrial Guidance Fund, Shanghai Jiliuloshan Haisongjin Venture Capital Fund, Xi'an Caijin Longmen Growth Fund and Xi'an Talent Development Fund, etc.

Safulus' current products include R-series Micro LED chips used in large commercial display screens, M-series Micro LED chips used in vehicle and watch screens, and T-series Micro LED micro-LED displays used in AR/VR headsets. At present, the first 6-inch silicon-based Micro LED production line has achieved mass production, and the construction of a 12-inch production line is simultaneously promoted.

In terms of AR applications, Savlus has improved full-color display capabilities by introducing an in-situ quantum dot color conversion solution on large-size silicon-based Micro LEDs to avoid the efficiency and yield bottlenecks of traditional RGB discrete solutions. When compared with Micro OLED, its T3-0.13 product has an efficiency increase of about 5 times and a brightness increase of more than 10 times.

In the field of XR large screens, Savlus has launched a quantum dot COB direct display solution, and the products have been shipped in batches.

On the material side, Savlus announced in March this year that it had successfully achieved large-scale mass production of 6-inch semi-polar (Semi-polar) gallium nitride (GaN) LEDs. This product can be used in the field of AR micro-displays to improve the luminous efficiency of small-size Micro LEDs under high current.

In the optical communication (Datacom) application test, the joint test results of Saphlux and Fudan University showed that at the same current density, Micro LED based on semipolar gallium nitride showed a response speed that far exceeded that of traditional c-plane LEDs: the -3dB bandwidth jumped from 170 MHz of traditional c-plane LEDs to 690 MHz, achieving a bandwidth increase of nearly 4 times.

In terms of cooperation, Severus cooperated with Vuzix in September last year to develop AR glasses, providing a T1-0.13-inch single green Micro LED micro display as the core display component, and Vuzix was responsible for the waveguide and overall machine design. The two parties plan to promote full-color AR optical solutions and complete the development of monocular and binocular green prototypes by the end of this year.

In terms of performance, Safulus has entered the stage of large-scale shipments in 2025, and has achieved batch delivery since April. In May, its monthly sales exceeded 10 million yuan, and its annual revenue was close to 100 million yuan. The company expects revenue in 2026 to be approximately 300 million yuan, mainly driven by the increased volume of AR micro-display products.

In terms of follow-up planning, the company will focus on optimizing the performance of full-color microdisplays, expanding optical communication applications, and improving production and delivery capabilities to match the growth in demand in emerging markets such as AR and AI data centers.
