According to the staff of the Municipal Urban Management Bureau, this project uses a contract energy management model (the government does not need to invest, the investor invests in the transformation and returns the income through saving electricity bills) to transform the original 11,711 high-pressure sodium lamps in Jiangmen City into 11,197 LED street lamps to achieve the goal of energy conservation.
Before the transformation, the average annual power consumption of the original street lights was 10.0905 million kilowatt hours. After the transformation, the average annual power consumption was 2.797 million kilowatt hours. The annual power saving was 7.2935 million kilowatt hours. The annual CO2 emission reduction was about 6727t, which was converted into standard coal of about 240 7t. The annual energy saving rate was 72 .28% is much higher than the project’s original requirement of 50% energy saving rate, and the energy saving benefit is better than expected.
