Inventory of the top ten news in Fujian LED lighting industry

Xiamen, known as "Oriental Hawaii", is one of the cities with the fastest development of LED in China. In order not to ignore another LED industry base because of the LED market in Shenzhen and Zhongshan, here, the editor makes a brief summary of Xiamen’s LED news market trends in the first half of the year to review what major events the LED industry has done in 2014.
1. San’an Wuhu Phase II tens of billions project moved back to Xiamen
As the link with the highest technical requirements and the largest investment in the entire LED industry chain, epitaxial chips have always been regarded as a high-tech and high-value-added industry. More than 100 LED chip companies in mainland China have been welcomed by local governments. This year, in the battle for where to land 200 MOCVD units of Sanan Optoelectronics, the “biggest brother” of domestic LED chips, “the highest bidder gets it” has also been implemented. Xiamen won the settlement of 200 MOCVD units of Sanan Optoelectronics at a cost of 4 billion yuan. The Xiamen government's 5 million yuan subsidy for a single piece of equipment (based on 2-inch 54-piece conversion) is not as good as Yangzhou, Jiangsu, which was the first to launch subsidies. It is also not as good as Jiangmen, Chengdu Shuangliu, Wuhu, Wuhan, Jiujiang, Huizhou and other LED bases. However, the additional 3 billion yuan lighting application contract is the biggest red envelope. Sanan Optoelectronics has set up its 200 MOCVD production base in Xiamen. In addition to the favorable conditions provided by Xiamen City, Sanan Optoelectronics will also have the opportunity to benefit from the ongoing public lighting renovation project in Fujian Province.
2. A fire broke out in Quanzhou Minnan Building Materials No. 1 Market and 44 stores were destroyed
On February 11, a fire broke out in a store in Building 28 of the First Minnan Building Materials Market in Quanzhou. The fire took advantage of the wind and spread quickly. In just a few minutes, it affected the entire store. Most of the store owners’ belongings and employees’ luggage were burned. Fortunately, no casualties were caused. Building 28 is the larger building in the Building Materials City. There are 44 stores in the entire building. After the fire, all 44 stores were not spared. The entire building was burned black, the roof was burned down, the scene was a mess, and the store was dark. It is understood that the building is made of a simple steel structure. The entire building is an elevated floor. In order to make full use of the space, many tenants have an attic above for rest. Most stores are not separated by walls. They are almost always separated by simple wooden plywood, and some are even connected. When the fire broke out, the wooden plywood in the middle was flammable, so the fire spread quickly. After the fire, the building materials market distributed relief funds of 3,000 to 5,000 yuan to each merchant.
3. The Cross-Strait LED Industry Scientific and Technological Achievements Conference will promote cross-Strait industrial upgrading
The theme of the Cross-Strait Industrial Science and Technology Achievements Conference is to promote cross-Strait LED industry technology exchanges and promote the docking of LED industry projects in Fujian and Taiwan. This year's "Cross-Strait Industrial Science and Technology Achievements Conference" held in Fuzhou was attended by nearly 150 representatives from mainland and Taiwan LED companies. After arduous early coordination and standard comparison work, at this meeting, the Fujian Optoelectronics Industry Association and the Taiwan LED Street Light Industry Alliance jointly released two mutually recognized standards, "Light-Emitting Diodes for Road Lighting" and "Street Lights", and signed the "Fujian and Taiwan LED Standards Mutual Recognition Agreement" to establish a mechanism for mutual recognition and cooperation of Fujian and Taiwan LED standards. Yunxiao carried out energy-saving renovation of street lamps step by step and eliminated energy-intensive sodium lamps. At present, Yunxiao has completed the energy-saving renovation of LED street lights on 30 kilometers of roads in the county, becoming the first Fujian-Taiwan LED lighting technology cooperation demonstration county in the province and the first county to achieve full intelligent control of LED single lights.

5. Fuzhou Hongbo Group signed an LED lighting cooperation agreement with Belarus
On March 29, the Belarusian science and technology delegation came to Fujian to look for cooperation projects and held friendly consultations with Hongbo Group. The two parties signed a framework agreement on "Fuzhou National Semiconductor Lighting International Innovation Park Science and Technology Cooperation". Hongbo Group introduced Belarus' advanced liquid crystal material synthesis technology through this cooperation. Belarusian State Technical University has advanced liquid crystal technology that is different from that of Germany and Japan. The synthesis method is simple and the cost is lower. Although this new type of liquid crystal material is still only a laboratory sample and cannot be mass-produced, it can be tested using the relevant industrial chain of Hongbo Group. It can be produced in small batches first and then put into mass production. At the same time, this cooperation also fills the gap of domestic LED production plants in Belarus. Belarus has a good research foundation and cutting-edge advanced technologies in semiconductor materials, electronic information, computer software, etc. Hongbo has launched all-round cooperation with Belarus on the above-mentioned technologies. Belarus has settled in the innovation park for technological transformation, jointly established R&D centers and factories for large-scale production.
6. Fujian implements the "Earth 1 Hour" environmental protection activity with high citizen participation
The "Earth Hour" international environmental protection event sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund was held again around the world. The annual "Earth Hour" event has received an enthusiastic response in Fujian. Xiamen, Quanzhou, Fuzhou, Zhangzhou, Ningde and other cities have joined the ranks of "turning off lights for one hour". Many landmark buildings, supermarkets, hotels, department stores, and squares have taken the initiative to turn off unnecessary landscape lights and lighting. Many communities and schools have also actively participated in this event. Since electricity demand changes all the time, and electricity demand itself is a gradual decline process in the first half of the night, it is difficult to make accurate statistics on the power saved by turning off the lights for one hour. But for many people, Earth Hour is more than a simple lights-out event. It inspires people's sense of responsibility for environmental protection and makes people believe that as long as everyone's strength is combined, they can make a difference.
7. Xiamen took the lead in introducing local standards for LED displays
The Fujian Provincial local standard "General Technical Specifications for Vehicle-mounted LED Displays" drafted by the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Quality Supervision, Metrology, Verification and Testing Institute and other units successfully passed the review and approval of the expert group. It is reported that the "Specification" is the first domestic recommended local standard for this product, which can provide technical basis for the design, production, sales and acceptance of automotive LED displays. Different from the technical standards of ordinary LED displays, LED displays installed on mobile carriers must meet more stringent requirements in terms of flame retardancy, electromagnetic compatibility, brightness, and service life. For example, the "Specifications" clearly state that vehicle-mounted LED displays should be able to protect against risks related to electric shock, energy, fire, heat, machinery, etc. Special requirements must have certain flame retardancy to avoid spontaneous combustion caused by short circuit.

10. The latest version of the new version of LED lighting product energy-saving certification technical specifications is released in Fujian
The latest version of the technical specifications for energy-saving certification of LED lighting products has been released. The China Quality Certification Center held a publicity and implementation meeting in Fujian on the new version of the technical specifications for energy-saving certification of LED lighting products. For a time, the upgraded technical specifications became the focus of the LED lighting industry. Unlike other traditional light source products, as a new type of light source product, LED lighting products did not have specific specifications and unified standards before. In addition to standardization, energy efficiency and performance requirements are also important contents of this revision of technical specifications. Currently, there are still no mandatory national standards for energy efficiency of LED lighting products. It is precisely because of the lack of this key standard that LED lighting products have missed the promotion of financial subsidies several times. In this revision, the energy efficiency and performance of LED lighting products have been greatly improved, giving LED lighting products more green advantages. The energy-saving certification threshold for LED lighting products has been greatly improved. Judging from the current development of the industry and market, about 10% of LED lighting companies can meet this standard.
