★LG 118-inch Micro LED TV unveiled, priced at approximately 1.737 million yuan

On September 8, according to foreign media Techaeris, at the CEDIA Expo 2023 exhibition, LG MAGNIT 118-inch Micro LED TV was unveiled, with a resolution of 4K and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is reported that the product is priced at US$237,000 (currently approximately 1.737 million yuan).

★Mingcheng University and KAUST develop laminated full-color Micro LED

On September 12, foreign media reported that Japan's Meijo University and Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) jointly developed a monolithic laminated RGB gallium indium nitride (GaInN) Micro LED array with a pixel density of 330PPI. The product can be applied to AR/VR/MR and other head-mounted smart devices.

★Nostalgia Technology has made new progress in the vertical stacking of Micro LED pixels

According to news on September 12, Nostalgia Technology announced that it has recently successfully opened up the vertical stacking (VSP) process to achieve monolithic integration of AlGaInP and GaN material systems. It is reported that the VSP process adopts the wafer level stacking (WLVSP) technical solution. After completing the preparation of the AlGaInP red light micro-display chip, by continuing to stack the InGaN wafer material, the vertical stacking of pixels on a single driving backplane can be achieved.

★K&S exhibits Mini/Micro LED chip laser transfer system

According to news on September 12, K&S demonstrated the Mini/Micro LED chip laser transfer system LUMINEX for the first time. It is specially designed for small chip, high-precision, and high-throughput chip transfer. It can be carried out through a variety of operating modes. In scanning mode, the speed reaches 10,000 Hz. At 15μm, 3sigma accuracy, LUMINEX can achieve a production capacity of 540K units per hour (UPH).

★Sony released four new Crystal LED products, specially designed for virtual production

On September 13, Sony released four new Crystal LED black color crystals - VP series products, specially designed for virtual production. The product uses newly developed surface treatment technology to reduce contrast loss. The VP series has a high brightness of 1,500cd/m2, a color gamut with DCI-P3 coverage of 97%, and a refresh rate of up to 7680Hz.

★Chenxian Optoelectronics: Groundbreaking of the world’s first TFT-based Micro-LED production line

On September 8, Chenxian Optoelectronics officially laid the foundation for the world's first TFT-based Micro-LED production line in Chengdu. The total investment in the project is expected to be 3 billion yuan, covering an area of about 53 acres. The product line mainly covers Micro-LED commercial display and other fields, and shipments are expected to begin in the second half of 2024.

★Cree Lighting changes ownership to ADLT

On September 11, Advanced Lighting Technologies, LLC (ADLT) announced that its affiliates had acquired all equity interests in Cree Lighting. ADLT expects that after Cree Lighting joins the company's lighting group ALG, it will achieve annual sales of approximately US$350 million and a total number of employees of more than 1,375, distributed in various business locations on five continents.

★Alto Electronics signed a bulk ordering agreement for LED movie screens

On September 8, Alto Electronics signed the "China Film CINITY LED Movie Screen Batch Order Agreement" with China Film Barco at its 30th anniversary celebration. After the agreement is signed, the LED movie screen projection system jointly built by the two parties will be gradually put on the market.
