Guangdong plans to release policies and measures to create a major industry for home appliance headquarters, involving LED lighting, etc.

Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology released the "Several Policies and Measures of Guangdong Province on Building a Large Home Appliance Headquarters Industry (Draft for Comments)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Draft for Comments").

The draft for comments proposes to build a global home appliance equipment R&D and manufacturing base with Shenzhen, Foshan, Zhuhai, Huizhou, Zhongshan and Zhanjiang as the core; support the northern Zhongshan area and Foshan Shunde District to jointly build a trillion-level smart home appliance industry cluster, and promote the construction of small home appliance industry clusters in Zhanjiang City and Jieyang City.

The draft for comments points out the development direction of the home appliance industry in Guangdong Province, focusing on the development of "four growth poles" and "five pillars". The "four growth poles" are: household appliances, personal care appliances, health appliances, and high-end appliances; the "five pillars" are: air conditioners, refrigerators, color TVs and audio-visual equipment, kitchen appliances, and lighting appliances.

Among them, the development direction of "lighting appliances", one of the five pillars, has been clarified: relying on Zhongshan, Shenzhen, Foshan, Guangzhou, Huizhou, Jiangmen and other cities, accelerate the development of full-spectrum LED technology and non-visual lighting technology, expand the lighting market in the direction of smart homes, smart city lighting, and smart light poles, and incubate in-depth emerging hot product fields such as smart lighting, health lighting, educational lighting, and agricultural lighting.

In addition, regarding the development goal of "building a world-class home appliance industry headquarters", the draft for comments points out that by 2025, the annual operating income of the smart home appliance industry cluster in Guangdong Province will exceed 2 trillion yuan (of which operating income from household electrical appliance manufacturing will exceed 1 trillion yuan), and the industrial added value will exceed 370 billion yuan.

By 2027, the cluster headquarters economy will begin to take shape, with coordinated regional development, obvious agglomeration effects, and complete functional supporting facilities. The "four new growth poles" of household appliances, personal care appliances, health appliances, and high-end home appliances will form a significant driving role. The operating income of the "five pillars" of air conditioners, refrigerators, color TVs and audio-visual equipment, kitchen appliances, and lighting appliances will reach 1.6 trillion yuan.

At the same time, regarding "building a world-class home appliance innovation headquarters", the draft for comments stated that it is necessary to improve the innovation system and promote strong and complementary chains. In terms of lighting appliances, it is planned to tackle key links such as light efficiency and two-color and multi-color filaments, various intelligent lighting devices and modules, plant lighting solutions, ultraviolet LED and functional modules, multi-primary color pure LED lighting technology, full-spectrum LED technology, 3D material printing lamp technology, anti-sulfurization and air tightness improvement technology.

In terms of TV, it is planned to tackle key links such as 8K ultra-high-definition display technology, image processing main chip, frame ratio control (FRC) chip MCU (single chip microcomputer), switching power supply chip, OLED display technology, sensors, communication protocols, Internet of Things modules, controllers, etc.
